Health Benefits Of Cardio-Kickboxing

In 2017, data from the CDC indicated that over 30% of adult Americans were classified as obese. Each new year many Americans make resolutions to get in shape, lose weight, and work out regularly. Unfortunately, many also lose the resolve to meet their fitness goals. A 2007 study by Richard Wiseman found that 88% of study participants who set resolutions at the beginning of the year failed to meet them, even though 52% of the participants were certain they would succeed.

Many people tire at the thought of running on the stationary treadmill day after day. Mundane routines at local gyms can lead to boredom, which hinders those trying to improve health, increase muscle tone, and alleviate stress. A study published in 2017 in the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association compared participants in group fitness classes with people who exercised alone or not at all. The study concluded that those in group fitness classes experienced decreased stress and increased physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Attending group fitness classes, like cardio-kickboxing, could help reduce stress because exercise increases the release of endorphins, hormones that produce feelings of happiness. Attending a class, making some friends, and leaving stress with the bag can have participants leaving the classroom feeling happy and ready to take on the next day.

Cardio-kickboxing is a group fitness class that provides a great cardiovascular workout by raising heart rate. In addition to a healthy diet, cardio-kickboxing classes help participants meet the criteria recommended by the CDC to help prevent heart disease. The Surgeon General recommends two and a half hours of moderate intensity exercise for adults each week. Attending cardio-kickboxing classes can help improve heart health. In addition to cardiovascular improvements, classes often work all the major muscle groups leading to increased strength and muscle tone. This can help boost metabolism, ultimately helping participants reach weight loss goals.

Finally, cardio-kickboxing classes encompass basic punching and kicking techniques so participants can acquire valuable self-defense skills while also getting in shape! Learning to punch and kick correctly is a great introduction to self-defense or other martial arts training programs that the whole family can enjoy.

Interested parties can search online for cardio-kickboxing to find classes near them.
