The Time To Start Over Is Now

Happy New Year! If there ever was a time to start over in any area in your life, the time is now. Don't delay. There is an energy of renewal this time of year, so go with the flow. Do you want to lose weight, improve your health, do a detox, repair broken relationships, make more money? All of these things are possible and more. Here are some tips on attaining any of the goals stated above and more.

Make A Decision

Before taking the first step of any journey, you have to make a decision to take the trip. Making a decision about improving your health is no different. When you decide to make something a priority in your life, magic starts to happen. All of the sudden you begin to notice opportunities that you may not have noticed before. You begin to meet people who can help you make your dreams come true. All of this comes by just making a decision.

Set Smart Goals

No doubt that you have heard about the power of setting goals. Zig Ziglar, a famous motivational speaker says, “Don't become a wandering generality, be a meaningful specific.” In other words, know exactly where you are going and set goals to help keep you on course. Smart goals are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and have a timeline.

Get Support

When you set out on a new journey, it is important to let someone know where you are going. This gives you some accountability and will impose positive peer pressure to achieve your goals. For example, if weight loss is one of your goals this year, communicate this to family and friends that are an integral part of your life. It will help them encourage and support your decisions while giving you the courage to persevere during the difficult times.

Keep A Journal

Did you know that studies show keeping a journal helps people lose twice the weight than those who do not keep one? This does not surprise me. Keeping track of your actions, whether it's for weight loss or another goal, will help you see exactly how you are achieving your goal. Make sure to keep track of your progress and celebrate when you achieve certain milestones.

Remember, the time is now. You can achieve whatever you choose to make a priority this year. Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions. Your actions become your habits. Your habits become your character and your character becomes your destiny. Make it a great year.
