The Root Chakra Manifesting Your Idea
Do you find yourself daydreaming instead of focusing on the task at hand? Do you have great ideas that never seem to manifest?
Many of us who are not grounded well have these issues. We seem to know what to do, but are not effective at following through in a stable way.
What are the Chakras?
The system of chakras dates back to eighth century Buddhism. The seven energy centers form a column that runs through the center of our bodies between our tailbones and the top of our heads.
Each center is a vortice of energy, drawing its supply from the sun and distributing vitality throughout our bodies. Each center is located in a different section of our bodies and is associated with different glands, organs, and tissue. Each awakens us to a different level of awareness and connects us with the world around us in diverse ways.
The Root Chakra
The first chakra, the root chakra, is located near the tail bone and is the foundation upon which all other chakras rest. If not balanced, growth and development of the higher chakras lacks stability.
The root is associated with our adrenal glands and is responsible for our “fight or flight” responses. It relates to the solid parts of the body, especially bones and large intestines. It is also connected to the sciatic nerve, running down the back of our legs. It connects our nervous system with the earth through the first chakra's basic force gravity.
Manifesting Your Ideas
A balanced root is crucial, because it pertains to our earthly survival, involving physical and material survival. The root chakra also helps us with self-discipline and focus. It helps us achieve the internal structure needed to manifest our ideas.
Grounding means opening the root chakra so it can do its work for us. Many spiritual students think only of opening the higher chakras, wanting to connect with finer energy at a higher consciousness level. But ignoring the importance of grounding the root, setting up a firm foundation, makes progress at the higher levels unstable.
Grounding can be achieved by eating certain foods and doing certain yoga poses and exercises. Check your local spiritual community centers for more information about the chakras.
