Spinal Decompression Therapy
What is it?
Spinal decompression therapy is a new technology that treats back pain and other problems associated with spinal disc injuries.
It is a non-surgical and pain-free procedure that gently re-aligns the spine to give breathing space to the discs that might have been compressed or misaligned due to repetitive stress, poor posture, or acute spinal injury.
Approved by the FDA, the therapy has successfully treated cases of herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, pinched nerves, arm or leg pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, low back and neck pain, sciatica, scoliosis, stenosis, facet syndrome, and post-surgical patients.
How does it work?
The patient is secured comfortably and fully clothed on a specially designed table that gently stretches and relaxes the discs of the spine. This “accordion” like action effectively creates a small space between the vertebrae and gradually pulls compressed or injured discs back into place.
Water, oxygen, and nutrients that were kept outside of the compressed discs can flow back into the discs and enable torn and degenerated discs to heal. The spine, which is the foundation of the body, can then function again without pain. Treatments take only 20-30 minutes and are reported to be very relaxing.
Responses of Patients
Many patients see results after only a few treatments. They are usually relieved by the gentleness and effectiveness of the non-surgical technique and there are even cases where a patient has fallen asleep during treatments.
Maximum Benefits
For maximum results, spinal decompression therapy treatments can be combined with non-traditional chiropractic care. This complementary approach has been effective in the enhancement of spinal wellness for many patients.
