How To Radiate Beauty From the Inside Out

“Always remember that true beauty comes from within – from within bottles, jars, compacts, and tubes.” Peter's Almanac

When I read the quote above, I literally laughed out loud because in today's society, the message that we constantly get from every form of media is that beauty lies in some potion. Now, I like many people sometimes fall for the marketing and hand over my money for an expensive cream which promises me the moon and the stars. Maybe there is a place for the potions and lotions, but I want to let you know that true beauty radiates from within. Healthy people tend to be perceived as beautiful more so than unhealthy people.

There are many components that make up good health – diet, exercise, healthy relationships, laughter and more. When you are creating a beauty regimen I want you to include that aforementioned lifestyle modifications as well as consider adding some of the following “beauty boosters” as I like to call them. They will not only make you look fantastic on the outside, but you will feel your best on the inside as well.

For Shiny Hair and Strong Nails

Biotin – This B vitamin will help to promote growth of both hair and nails. It prevents dryness in the cortex of the hair which helps to prevent breakage. It can be found in beans, nuts, cauliflower, meat products or supplementation.

Silica – Short for Silica Dioxide, this element is a necessary component of connective tissue, hair and nails. It can be primarily in whole grains such as barley, oats, wheat, millet or green leafy veggies.

Lecithin – Lecithin has many uses, but regarding beauty, it can be used to help create shiny hair that is more resistant to breakage. Some foods that have lecithin are soy beans, chick peas, cabbage, split peas, cauliflower, nuts and eggs. For higher doses supplementation is suggested.

For Radiant Skin

Emu oil – Used for thousands of years by the Aborigines of Australia, this oil is used to heal many skin conditions such as eczema, burns, radiation damage, and any type of inflammation. Use this oil to lessen the appearance of fine lines round the eyes and lips as well as decrease puffiness around the eyes.

Argan oil – This amazing oil is found exclusively in Morocco. Moroccan women have used it both on the skin and the hair due to its high essential fatty acid content. Like emu oil, it can help reduce the appearance of fine lines on the face.

Evening Primrose Oil – Rich in gamma linoleic acid, this oil is excellent for helping to clear up any form of dermatitis, acne, and aging skin that is dry or sagging. To get the doses necessary to have a therapeutic effect, supplementation is suggested.

For Healthy Teeth

Dental tape – Move over floss, here comes dental tape. It's basically the same thing except thicker which allows you to remove more stuff from in between your teeth giving you healthier gums and a nicer smile which is one of the first things that people notice about you.

Baking soda – This household item can be used with toothpaste to create a whiter cleaner smile that won't break the bank. Just dip your toothbrush into the baking soda and brush away.

New toothbrush – Make sure you change your toothbrush at least every three months to prevent infecting your gums with bad forms of bacteria. This could contribute to bad breath which isn't so beautiful.

These were just a few suggestions to help you feel beautiful from the inside out.
