NASA Technology Now Available To Treat Pain

When I was a young boy watching Apollo astronaut Neil Armstrong walk on the moon in 1969, I had no idea that the space technology developed from our stellar manned space program would have a direct positive influence on the medical field in the year 2012. The new class III cold laser uses “photonic biomodulation” to safely penetrate injured tissues and stimulate the powerhouse structures (mitrochondria) of the living cells to help the body heal faster in half the time of average healing. The results of the cold laser light therapy include reduction of pain, decreased inflammation, increased tissue healing, decrease scar formation, increased tissue strength, and cell growth or proliferation. The FDA cleared the use of cold laser in 2002, however the European medical community has been utilizing cold laser for over 20 years with outstanding clinical results.

The laser was designed by a team of doctors and leading medical engineers to harness the therapeutic application of advanced low energy laser technology. In the United States, pain clinics have been seeing excellent results with this laser technology without the use of drugs or surgery. Most professional sports teams have provided class III lasers to their athletes, including the NFL, NBA, PGA, and Major League Baseball including the New York Yankees. The laser has also helped athletes during their post-surgical recovery.

In a rapidly developing technological workplace, our bodies cannot maintain the pace of a high demand machine or repetitive motion, especially the mouse, touchpad, or computer keyboard. Of course, our smart phones place tremendous stress on our neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and fingers.

The daily effect of very fast, forceful, and seemingly harmless movements of these joints result in acute and chronic pain conditions that require treatment that is fast, effective, conservative, and affordable. Cold laser therapy is the treatment of choice.

Conditions that respond well to the cold laser include neck pain, low back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shoulder pain, elbow pain, tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, lateral epicondlyitis, hip pain, knee pain, ankle pain, sprains and strains, fibromyalgia, plantar fasciitis, sports injuries, and auto and work related injuries.
