Meet Your Need For Happiness
In most cases, when you were a child, parents and other family members made sure that you were fed and clothed, enrolled in and attended school, had toys to play with, or were engaged in activities that made you happy. As an adult, those responsibilities are now yours.
Seeing that your needs are taken care of includes not only the necessities of food, clothing, shelter, and health, but also time to feed your soul. This may take many forms. You may enjoy time to read, meditate, participate in a spiritual practice, garden, create art, play games, take a nap, work or play on the computer, shop, go to museums, travel, and so many other activities.
Happiness is a choice, but it is a much easier choice if you seek out the activities that you enjoy. You may not always be able to afford doing a lot of everything that you enjoy, like travel, but you can still make sure that you take time for you every day.
Without time for yourself, you may feel burnt out, tired, resentful, and even angry. This does not serve you or those around you. Go too long like this and your health begins to suffer.
You need to be able to indulge in things that bring happiness and moments of peace and joy into your life. Some feel that they have to have a huge block of time to do things they enjoy, but there are always little things like chatting with a friend that can make your day so much brighter. Choose something every day to help you feel happier.
