Neck Liposuction Or Face Lift?
If you are contemplating a face lift, you may want to know about neck liposuction.
Facts About Neck Liposuction
There are as many different reasons for having cosmetic surgery as there are people who undergo the procedures. Plastic surgery is becoming so common, it seems like everyone is taking advantage of it and it has become widely popular practice, particularly throughout North America.
One popular procedure among people of all ages is neck liposuction. The following article addresses some of the primary questions and concerns about neck liposuction, including the possible reasons for, and advantages of neck liposuction, the cost range of such a procedure, and how to find the right doctor.
Who Should Consider Neck Liposuction?
Very few people undergoing a cosmetic procedure want to completely change their physical appearance. Often, a small surgical adjustment is a subtle process with very gratifying results. Many individuals who undergo neck liposuction are genetically predisposed to excess fat build-up under their chins. This makes them look overweight and distort their facial features, even when they are in excellent physical condition.
Neck liposuction is an outpatient procedure that can be a simple solution to this challenge. It can give an individual more self-confidence, and allow them to appreciate their facial features to the fullest.
Who Should Consider Alternative Procedures?
Neck liposuction is not the most appropriate solution for every individual. But for the majority of people considering a facelift, neck liposuction is a great alternative. Although liposuction removes excess fat, in most people the amount of fat removed is small compared to the improvement they experience.
What Can I Expect?
Neck liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure and the entire procedure takes approximately an hour. Once the procedure has been completed, patients are required to wear a supportive bandage around the neck. In addition to protecting the sensitive area from infection, this supportive bandage will allow the skin, muscles, and remaining fat cells in the area to adjust to the physical change, and to heal and tighten optimally.
Once the healing process has completed, some individuals will also choose to undergo laser resurfacing or chemical peels to reduce any residual scarring. You can expect to have tighter skin around your neck, a well-defined jaw line, reduction or elimination of jowls and double chin almost instantly with progressive improvement over six months to a year.
How Much Does Neck Liposuction Cost?
The cost of liposuction procedures varies depending upon a number of factors, including the individual administering the procedure and the area to be treated. Doctors with excellent reputations and secure client bases tend to charge more for their services because they are already well-established and sought after in their fields.
Other doctors may charge less. In general, an individual seeking neck liposuction should expect to pay between $2,000 and $4,500, but may find offices that charge more or less than these ballpark figures.
