Why My Back Pain Always Seems To Return

One third of American's will suffer back pain this year. Back pain is now cited as the second most common reason people go to a Physician. And 70% of back pain will return many times over a person's lifetime. So back pain is not uncommon, in fact it is very common.

Why does back pain keep coming back? One reason is that many just pop an aspirin, Advil, or other pain pill and hope they will feel better. But does this solve the root cause of the pain? Not usually. Many times it will provide temporary relief and mask the real problem.

Second, we are creatures of habit. We put ourselves in unhealthy postures with repetitive improper ways of positioning our bodies while sitting, lifting, and bending that cause the problem to reactivate. Bad ergonomics.

Third, over time bad ergonomics cause your muscles and joints to get tight, de-conditioned, and worn out. Just like your teeth, your car, or your house if you don't take care your back with some maintenance work along the way, your back will give out sooner than later. And, you can't just replace your back as you can your teeth, car, or house.

One solution for this problem is chiropractic. Chiropractic has been around for over a long, long time and the reason it works is because it addresses and often fixes the root cause of back pain, without surgery or drugs.

How effective is chiropractic? A national telephone survey of 2,000 randomly selected Americans asked a series of questions on whether or not each respondent suffered from any forms of back or neck pain the previous year, and if so, what type of treatment he or she sought.

Chiropractic was the most-used complementary therapy in this study. Over 60% of sufferers considered chiropractic “very helpful” for treating back and neck pain. A multitude of studies have shown that chiropractic and other alternative therapies, such as massage, can be highly effective for musculoskeletal pain.

The good news about chiropractic continues to pour in. If you have back pain that keeps coming back, run, don't walk, to your chiropractic doctor's office.
