Alleviate Pain and Soreness With Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy is a great way to alleviate pain and soreness throughout the body, as well as enhance natural restorative abilities of the skin, thus achieving an anti-aging effect.
How It Works
Cryotherapy uses gasiform nitrogen to lower the skin surface temperature by 30-50F over a period of three minutes. Reacting to extreme cold, the skin sends messages to the brain, which starts scanning all areas that may not be working to their fullest potential. Skin exposure to extreme temperatures also triggers a release of anti-inflammatory molecules that target all areas affected by inflammation or pain, addressing a variety of health issues, including rheumatoid arthritis, chronic pain, and injuries.
Anti-Aging and Weight
Loss Properties
Freezing temperatures during cryogenic treatments stimulate microcirculation and promote better oxygenation at a cellular level resulting in a boost of natural collagen production in skin, improvement in skin conditions, reduction of pigmentation and visible signs of aging, and restoration of firmness, tone, and radiance of skin. After a single session, the skin looks refreshed and youthful.
It may also address weight loss issues, increasing metabolism by sending a calorie-burning “warm me up” message to the whole body. Even after a short cryotherapy session, the gained momentum in metabolism rates lasts for approximately 5-8 hours, burning an additional 500-800 calories over that period of time.
Is It Safe?
Cryotherapy has been used for the past 30+ years without any severe adverse reaction ever recorded.
Is It Comfortable?
During the procedure a patient is wearing protective socks, underwear, and gloves. The sessions are short (2-3 minutes), and use “dry” cold, which is quite tolerable. Closer to the end of the treatment the skin experiences a “pins and needles” sensation, which disappears immediately after the treatment.
How Does It Feel Afterwards?
The rapid and significant drop in the surrounding temperatures forces the body to release endorphins – hormones that induce a pleasant sensation of euphoria and dramatically increase energy levels. The mood-enhancing effects from each session can last for days.
