Why Tricorder.Zero™ is the Ultimate Smart Health Companion

As frustration with the US healthcare system continues to rise, many people are looking for alternatives to costly and inefficient doctor visits. Smart health companions have emerged as an option, promising to facilitate at-home tracking of personal health data. The reality, however, is that few of the devices provide the power and portability required to function as a comprehensive and reliable solution.

Tricorder.Zero™ is the exception to that rule. It is the ultimate smart health companion, providing users with seven fully integrated sensors and over 15 functions for comprehensive health and fitness tracking.

“The most recent stats show that over 40% of people in the US, even with health insurance, don’t have access to affordable, quality healthcare or the ability to pay for the care they need,” says Marcus Soori, inventor of the Tricorder.Zero™. “The device I’ve developed is a game-changer for those people, giving them the capability to comprehensively track their health and fitness without the inconvenience or costs associated with doctor’s appointments. Even better, when users need to have a telehealth call, sending this comprehensive data to a telehealth provider greatly minimizes the chance that an unnecessary and expensive (due to copays and deductibles, or self-pay) in-office follow-up will be needed for continued care.”

Soori developed the initial idea for Tricorder.Zero™, drawing its name from the futuristic medical device used in the “Star Trek” series, while in medical school over a decade ago. At that time, however, technology wasn’t available to make the device handheld and affordable. From 2013 to 2021, Soori refined the idea, taking advantage of technological advances that made necessary components smaller and less costly.

After developing the prototype for the Tricorder.Zero™ from 2021 to 2023, Soori secured patent-pending status on 12+ novel concepts used in the device. The current design has the capability to provide users with a touchscreen-enabled, fully integrated seven-sensor health and fitness tracker that can be used to enhance telehealth care and as a personal health monitoring aid.

“Tricorder.Zero™ provides the capability to do so much more than simply gather health data,” Soori explains. “It gives users the power to take total control of their health. They gain the capability for advanced health tracking, fitness insights, future telehealth coordination, and more. And all of that power rests in the palm of their hand.”

Unprecedented capabilities with an abundance of uses

Tricorder.Zero™ is a tool designed to empower anyone seeking better health. It removes the hurdles that typically stand in the way of an effective and efficient healthcare routine by providing the capability to track health and fitness without the need for a doctor.

“A lot of people have become tired of the hassle they experience with doctor’s appointments,” Soori says. “Yet they don’t know where to find an alternative to wasting time and money in a doctor’s office or clinic to get an update on their health.”

Tricorder.Zero™ puts the tools that doctors use to gather health data at the user’s fingertips. Its seven health-focused sensors include a high-magnification camera, an otoscope, an infrared thermometer, a pulse oximeter, a stethoscope, an EKG sensor, and a body fat and muscle tone sensor. Each sensor is fully integrated, which means there is no need to swap out components when a full range of readings is needed. Each works when required with a simple tap of the screen.

Meeting the healthcare needs of a wide variety of users

Tricorder.Zero™ is the perfect solution for seniors struggling with health issues who want to maintain their independence. It serves not only as a monitor for tracking and compiling key health metrics but also as a link that can be used to allow children and home aides to check in on a person’s health status. And when kids come down with something, Tricorder.Zero™ helps parents to get the readings they need to gain peace of mind.

Tricorder.Zero™ is also a great companion for data-driven fitness enthusiasts. Its sensors can measure body fat, muscle tone, heart rate, breathing rate, and blood oxygenation before and after workouts to show progress.

“The average American is spending $1,860 per year on health and fitness and gaining almost no useful data to show for it,” Soori says. “With Tricorder.Zero™️, users get detailed data to fuel their fitness journey without needing a wearable or other intrusive or restrictive device.”

Managing health while away from home is also a concern for many, especially when traveling overseas. Tricorder.Zero™ serves as a valuable travel tool that can aid with health tracking, whatever the destination.

“Many people’s health insurance policies don’t cover health issues they experience while abroad, and emergency medical evacuations can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars,” says Soori. “Tricorder.Zero™ gives travelers and adventurers a health ‘safety net’ when they get sick far from home.”

Tricorder.Zero™ is currently in its pre-order phase, during which those placing an order can reserve their device for $299. When the device enters the production phase, which Soori anticipates will begin once 5,000 pre-orders are placed, the price for the device is expected to increase to $499.

“Healthcare is going through an evolution, and Tricorder.Zero™ is playing a pivotal role in ushering in the next phase,” Soori says. “It’s a solution that benefits every stakeholder, from patients to doctors to healthcare providers and insurers, by reducing the frustration associated with the modern healthcare journey.”
