What Is PEMF Therapy?
In 2011 Dr. Oz introduced PEMF to the American public as a new and revolutionary treatment for pain. He briefly explained that the use of Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Energy is a new, non-invasive, drug free approach to pain management.
So, how does it work? PEMF devices, and there are many different types, send a pulsating electro-magnetic field through the body.
Why is this form of energy so important to cellular health? PEMF devices support our natural repair activities(healing process) by improving the working conditions of all cells improved microcirculation is the foundation of this process. Healthy cells keep us healthy; unhealthy cells, those with little to no energy are the root cause of every illness. They're damaged and dying, whereas healthy cells repair themselves and keep our organs operating properly.
The use of PEMF is also an accepted practice by the FDA. In 1972 the use of PEMF devices was approved in the healing of non-union bone fractures; urinary incontinence and muscle stimulation in 1998; the treatment of depression and anxiety in 2006; and for brain cancer and tumors in 2011. Medicare approved of PEMF therapy for Stage III and Stage IV wound care issues in 2004. Certain PEMF devices have been recommended for use by chiropractors due to their ability to reduce swelling and joint pain. It's also excellent for the treatment of edema in soft tissue.
