The Season Of Change

As Fall, the season of change, begins and we feel the cool breeze blowing in and reach for our scarves we may feel internal shifts yearning for change that may lead to big life decisions. When we are in the midst of changes it's always important to sit down and pay extra close attention to the signals our bodies are trying to communicate to us. It is very easy to get lost in the momentum of stress, fear and excitement that comes with these decisions but we are all equipped with our own set of internal guides to support us.

Here is a nice exercise to use when contemplating life decisions. Sit in a quiet place and write each decision on an index card in front of you. Close your eyes and visualize following through with each decision individually. Breathe in deep breaths, as if to breathe life into them.

Pay close attention to you body's signals. Do your shoulders tense up? Does your heart start racing? Does your mouth turn slightly upward at the ends? Does your breath change from deep to shallow or vice versa? Give each decision its own five minutes to come into fruition through imagination then jot down how you feel on the corresponding index card.

Taking care of yourself and giving your body a say in the matter will give you a better sense of how to proceed and hopefully bring you to a more relaxed and energized place.
