Retrograde 2026. Happy New Year!

Wow! 2026 is the year of mental retrograde. Retrograde is motion in a direction contrary to the norm. It is rotation or movement that is clockwise—moving, occurring, or performing in a backward direction. It is a direction opposite the normal or forward flow of conduction. Retrograde also means to go back, to retreat, to go over or recapitulate something. It can mean to decline or fall into a worse condition.

America… is in retrograde. We are moving contrary to what we have been taught or practicing for years. We are now in a direction, a rotation, where evolution is clockwise—going backward.

America must:

Find the natural flow that creates a better condition for all Americans and our guests from other places. It is important for us to go back and redo the things we know are right for all people.

Recognize America’s retrograde. This period is causing us to think about what’s best for us—individually, as groups, as communities, and as a world community.

During this period of retrograde, we do not know how long it will last. But we do know what is best for our individual sanity, health, consciousness, and cohesiveness.

Going forward…

During America’s retrograde, it is important for us to:

Wrap up unfinished business.

Watch our words and tone.

Keep living but slow the pace.

Watch our commitments and promises.

Refrain from gossip or speculation.

It’s time to…

Cut the noise. Watch the signals.

Refresh, move slower, restore energy.

Revisit, refine, realign.

Remember to…

Name what you’re realigning.

Create a tangible marker of change.

Understand that change is always changing—go with the positive or natural flow.

Do yoga or some form of exercise.

Meditate or learn to meditate.

Pray.

Eat healthy for your blood type.

Commit to something.

Be social—get out of the house.

Talk to friends and the elderly.

Study something (it can be fun). Take a course.

Limit your screen time—TV, cell phone, computer, iPad.

Read (keep the eyes and brain sharp; enhance your memory).

Take a short trip out of your town.

Be patient and considerate and know that we are all going through this retrograde period together.

Be kind and remember your manners.

Teach manners to the younger generation (they do not use the words “please” and “thank you”).

Compliment someone—it makes you feel better.

What is your consciousness for 2026? Be the change you want to see in the world. It starts individually.
