Mommy Makeover Overview

A Mommy Makeover refers to any procedure or combination of fprocedures spcifically designed to surgically restore your pre-baby or post-pregnancy body and correct the toll pregnancy can take on your body.

The most common use of the term “Mommy Makeover” refers to a cmobination of breast enhancement, lift or augmentation, tummy tuck, libosuction and lipo-transver surgeries. Your plastic surgeon will customize a Mommy Makeover based on your needs.

The Mommy Makeover's that I perform consist of a breast portion, which includes a breast lift with implants or fat grafting to the breast (natural breast augmentation), a tummy tuck and liposuction or lipo-transfer. These are lengthy complex procedures that should not be taken lightly and usually take 3-5 hours of operating time.

Mommy Makeover Breast Enhancement. A breast lift, with or without and augmentation, is commonly performed to correct the sagginess and laxity that occurs after delivery or breastfeeding. When the breasts return to their pre-pregnancy size, they often become overstretched and lose their volume.

These are signifigant shape changes that a breast lift can help overcome. Using an implant with the breast lift helps to support and enhance the breast, and provides fullness on top, which is hard to achieve with a lift alone.

Mommy Makeover Tummy Tuck. Abdominal skin often becomes stretched due to pregnancy. Inaddtion, the abs, or rectus abdominus muscles can separate, causing a midline abdominal protrusion and weakness in the abdominal wall. This unflattering abdominal contour along with excess skin can be corrected with a tummy tuck.

Depending on the degree of muscle and skin laxity, a tummy tuck can be full, extended, or mini with a shorter scar. If ou have had a C-section, my technique would be to use your C-section for the incision, leaving you with only one scar.

Mommy Makeover Liposuction. Liposuction hleps with the post-pregnancy changes in the body contouring. As women get back to their original weight, they still have excess fat in certain areas. Liposuction, alone or combined with a tummy tuck, can help correct those extra fatty deposits.

Mommy Makeover Fat Transfer. Fat is liposuctioned from other areas and injected into the deficient areas. Fat transger helps shift the fatty deposits from where you don't want them into the areas that need them.

The resultin procedure is a Brazilian butt lift (when volume loss is in the buttocks) or a natural breast augmentation (when patients opt out of implants for volume loss in the breast).

The procedures can be performed at a hospital or a certified freestanding surger center, on an outpatient basis under local intravenous sedation or general sedation.

Recovery may require 10-12 days.

The average cost of a Mommy Makeover depends on the combination of surgeries selected, the fee can range from 10,000-20,000.
