Dr. April brings a unique blend of expertise, warmth, and dedication that truly sets her apart. A proud “army brat” who settled in Bowie, Maryland, she earned her degree in biology and bioethics from the University of Virginia. It was during her time volunteering at the Charlottesville Free Clinic that she discovered her passion for dentistry and helping others. She went on to earn her dental degree from the University of Maryland, where she also participated in the Pediatric Dentistry Clerkship program—an experience that solidified her love for working with children.

Dr. April completed her pediatric dental residency at Howard University, where she received specialized training in child-focused behavior guidance, restorative care, and dental outpatient surgery under general anesthesia. She became a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2011, a distinction that represents the highest level of credentialing in pediatric dentistry. Her certification assures parents that she meets the rigorous standards of excellence in care for infants, children, teens, and patients with special health care needs.

She believes in the power of prevention and is passionate about educating families on how to build lifelong healthy habits.

Beyond the office, Dr. April is a wife, mother, and creative spirit who enjoys writing, playing piano, marital arts, swimming, and spending time with her family. She is actively involved in organized dentistry, serving in the House of Delegates for the Virginia Dental Association and consulting on the Committee of Sedation and Anesthesia for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
