Dr. Amini is a Clinical Professor in the University of Maryland’s Department of Neurosurgery and Medical Director of Neurosurgery at Capital Region Medical Center. He is committed to providing patient-centered care with careful attention and cautious decision-making throughout all stages of treatment—pre-surgical planning through recovery.
Dr. Amini has expertise in resecting primary and metastatic brain and spine tumors, improving both quality of life and prognosis. Regionally, he has pioneered robotic neurosurgery and is a leader in minimally invasive techniques to allow for quicker recovery, smaller incisions, less discomfort, and improved outcomes. He helped build the neuroscience programs at Holy Cross and Adventist HealthCare Hospitals.
Dr. Amini obtained his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia and completed his neurosurgical training at the University of Utah. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the Washington Academy of Neurosurgery.
