Talking To Your GYN Before Vaginal Steaming
Modern medicine is not familiar with the practice of vaginal steaming and is not clear on its value. Data on its value is still being established and there are ways you can participate in that.
Here are three key things to converse with your gynecologist (GYN) about as it relates to your incorporation of vaginal steaming in your self-care
1. Your healthcare approach Does your GYN understand the values that influence your health care preferences? Your GYN should be clear that you value a holistic and/or integrative approach to managing your health. You should know that you are working with a GYN who respects and supports your desires to explore integrative approaches to your health care.
2. How often you plan to vaginal steam and what method you will use When you meet with your GYN inform them of the various natural, alternative, and non-conventional treatments you plan to use. Tell them that you are working with a Certified Womb Sauna Practitioner to offer holistic support to your journey with your infertility, for example. You are the key decision maker. Trust your decision to use a variety of methods, but be sure to discuss with your GYN.
3. Measuring the impact of what you are doing Let your GYN know that you want to monitor your results. Explain that you know that it can take time for your body to respond to natural remedies and as long as there is not a life threatening condition prevalent, you would like to partner with them in doing diagnostic work every 3-6 months to see if what you are doing naturally is working
You always get to choose how you heal. Having conversations like these with your support people will empower you to know that.
