We Are Empowered Woman
We take ourselves for granted everyday by taking care of those we love, being there for our jobs and other responsibilities. What we don’t realize is how significant our roles are to others nor do we give ourselves credit for all we do. We are natural nurturers; it’s who we are.
In saying this, it should also be pointed out that women have been celebrated by the world for years. How women have helped shape and influence the world with their gifts of kindness, their devotion to family values and their need to help influence all to be successful in becoming productive additions to the society in which we live and to be vigilant in helping the world be a better place.
In our nation’s history, former President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, in 1980 proclaimed National Women’s Week, March 8th. We were given this honor because of the noted historian, Ms. Gerda Lerner, of the Women’s History Institute at Sarah Lawrence College. She held a 15-day conference, that was so successful that other celebrations were initiated until it was lengthened to a 30-day celebration, which was voted on by Congress in 1987 and proclaimed the month of March, National Women’s History Month.
This is inspiring information…women matter and have a voice and a role. We are all significant in some way where we should hold our heads up high and be comfortable in our contributions to life and the world. We are college graduates, business owners and CEOs. We are military members – enlisted and officers, we are federal and state officials, we are trailblazers, doctors, lawyers as well as mothers, wives, sisters and daughters.
We have the option to aspire to be anything we want to be. We help to shape this world and make it a better place to live in all aspects. We inspire our youth to strive for the best; we show our youth that these things are obtainable. We give them structure. We show them right from wrong. We engage in conversations at the dinner table, in church or anywhere there is someone that needs nurturing and motivation.
So women, listen up. Please be aware, God makes no mistakes. God mixes His blessings into each and every one of us. He gives us all special gifts and talents that he expects for us to share with the world on His behalf.
Make your mark, know you are a positive influence for the next generation. God gave you the tools ladies. Let us all live our blessed life.
