‘Cystically Dilated’ on Your Scan: Decoding the Phrase

You open a scan report in your patient portal and see the words “cystically dilated.” The phrase sounds alarming, especially when no one has explained it yet. Does it mean you have a cyst? Is something blocked? Could it be cancer?
