Fixing Your Recessed Jaw Line Can Add Years To Your Life

Does your receding jaw line cause you embarrassment and prevent you from presenting your best self forward? Anyone who has experienced this lifelong feeling of low self-esteem wishes they could fix their face and jaw line. This is not your fault. You were born this way. But you don't have to live like this anymore! There is help!

There are now new non-surgical techniques available that can restructure the face, giving the jaw line a pleasing appearance along with the added benefit of a great looking smile. Best of all, you can add up to 10-15 more years to your life expectancy.

Genetics may have dealt you bad jaw genes, or you may have developed allergies as a child. Results of allergies and jaw malformation can include a compromised airway leading to snoring or sleep apnea. The tongue is squeezed into a reduced oral cavity, pushing up on the roof of the mouth, causing the arches to narrow and teeth to become crooked. The bite becomes misaligned, and teeth wear unevenly and develop areas where gum and bone strip away from the teeth.

In some patients, a recessed jaw can also lead to pain patterns in the head and neck and around the jaw joint. Skeletal changes take place, and ultimately, the aging process is severely compromised, leading to a life of pain.

Treatment involves decompressing the jaw joints and allowing the lower jaw to come forward, opening the airway, and releasing the spasms in the muscles that cause these pain patterns. This is accomplished by wearing an oral appliance that is built to compliment the neural, vascular, and muscular physiology.

Who benefits the most from this treatment? Most people are able to achieve a more pleasing appearance. Adults are improved, but children around the age of six to eight years can be corrected to set them up for a lifetime of enhanced health, longevity, and performance. Breathing and sleep issues can lead to cardiac problems, diabetes, stroke, or premature death. They compromise proper hormonal function, which can lead to obesity, impotence, and depression. So, again, adults can be managed and improved, and children can be totally cured.

Look how normal this child appeared in his early years. And look at the facial deformity and recessed chin as a young adult. Note how the nose enlarges as well. So many patients seek chin implants or nose reductions to attempt to compensate for the malformation they see in the mirror. These cosmetic procedures do not treat the underlying health issues that can shorten your life. If you are contemplating these surgeries, you may prefer to seek a non-surgical and less invasive approach first. Surgery can always be done after the jaw structures have been properly aligned. Most find they love the way they look without the surgery.
