Energy Medicine For Chronic Fatigue, Joint Pain, Stress and Depression

Mary Ann was experiencing chronic fatigue and joint pain.  At her first appointment for energy medicine or biofield healing, she presents looking tired and depressed.  She is a 42- year old married mother of three children. One of the children is in treatment for attention deficit disorder with oppositional behavior and is causing her to attend numerous teacher meetings about him.  She has trouble sleeping and experiences stress on the job with trouble meeting deadlines.

After taking a careful history and doing an energetic assessment, it appears her energy centers (chakras) are compromised.  Hand scan senses prickling sensations over her head, hips and knees and congestion over her abdomen.

Mutual short and long-term goals are established including improving sleep, reducing joint pain, elevating mood and improving her relationship with her ADHD child.  Her joint pain is seven with 10 being the worst, she is sleeping four to six hours a night, waking thinking about work, work stress is at a six and stress about her ADHD child is at a nine.

Research on biofield healing is prolific in the National Library of Medicine. There are over 100 different types of energy healing.  This particular case references treatment with Healing Touch®, a standardized credentialed energy healing program.

She participated in six energy healing sessions which included case management to help her change her energy patterns in the direction of increased sleep, coping patterns, being taught to use self-energy healing methods and making referrals as appropriate.

Energy healing provides deep relaxation which reduces joint pain, anxiety, depression and enhances energy through providing deeper breathing; more oxygen to the blood.

Motivational interviewing is included to help her observe her own patterns, for example, when under stress she is inclined to reach for sugary treats, which increase insomnia and joint pain.

After six energy healing sessions, her joint pain was reduced to a zero and perception of stress reduced to three. She sleeps better, 7-8 hours per night.  She has healthy snacks and lunches on hand and has increased her daily exercise.

With her elevated mood and referral to a behavioral therapist for help with her child, her child is achieving academically in school and in relationships with peers.  She experiences less stress at work and can now meet deadlines.
