Say Goodbye To Your Razor Forever
Do you find yourself constantly shaving, tweezing or waxing to remove unwanted hair? Do pesky, in-grown hairs bother you? Would you like a more permanent solution? Well say goodbye to your razor forever with laser hair removal.
What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal is a common cosmetic procedure that permanently removes unwanted hair from the bikini area, underarms, face, legs, and entire body leaving a silky, smooth finish on the skin.
How does it work?
It works by targeting the roots of hair follicles and “zapping” them. Highly concentrated light is beamed into the hair follicles. The pigment in the hair follicles absorbs the light which in turn, destroys the hair shaft at the root.
What is treatment like?
Laser hair removal is relatively painless, although individual sensitivities may vary. To prepare for treatment, the hair being treated should be shaved or trimmed down. Next, the technician will adjust the laser equipment for color, thickness and length of hair being treated as well as for the color of your skin. For safety reasons and depending on the type of laser being used, the technician may wear eye protection. A cooling gel or device is used to protect the outer layer of the skin and to allow the laser light to properly penetrate the skin. Ice packs, cooling gels or lotions may also be given to soothe the treatment area after the procedure is complete.
What to expect
after treatment
For a few days following treatment, the area treated may look red or sunburned. Applying a cool compress or moisturizer will help to alleviate such sensitivities. Be sure to wear sunscreen in exposed areas for appropriate protection. Over the course of a month, hair in the treated area will shed.
