PRP Hair Restoration
Hair loss also affects both men and women, and it can be very embarrassing and stressful regardless of gender. Many factors contribute to hair loss – health conditions, aging, or it could just be in your genes. Surgical hair restoration sometimes works, but it can be expensive, have a long recovery time, and it hurts.
Now there is a non-surgical method to treat hair loss and improve hair density without surgery. It uses platelets from your own body to stimulate growth. This latest innovation for hair loss in both men and women is non-surgical platelet rich plasma (PRP) hair restoration.
Plasma is the largest component of your blood, and it contains platelets that are known to have healing benefits. Used properly it can work wonders by revitalizing your hair from the inside out. Here’s how…
How PRP Hair Restoration Works
Platelet rich plasma contains growth factors, which work as signal callers that give instructions to your tissues to regenerate cells. Growth factors and stems cells are stimulated by PRP to reverse hair loss and initiate the dormant (sleeping) hair into the active (growth) phase.
The process starts by numbing the area to be treated for 45 minutes. Then your healthcare provider will extract your blood in a special collection tube that is then placed in a specialized centrifuge. After some time the platelets are concentrated and drawn up into a syringe. Using a small needle the platelets are injected into the scalp and in to the areas that need improvement.
Patients start seeing results in four weeks and will need anywhere from 3-5 treatments spaced out every 4-6 weeks. Optimal results will occur six months after your last treatment.
