New Non-Surgical Solution For Eyelid Bags

Do under-eye bags, circles or loose skin bother you? Have friends or family told you that your eyes make you look tired or older? These are some of the most common complaints that patients describe when seeking consultation for lower eyelid surgery for eyelid bags.

This problem is caused by loss of support of the junction between the cheek and the lower eyelid that occurs naturally with aging. It can also occur prematurely in young patients with flat cheek bones and in some ethnic groups. This finding leads to an out-pouching of eyelid fat pads, loose wrinkly skin and dark circles in some patients.

Neotensil is a new type of treatment which the manufacturer has coined “invisible shapewear.” The product includes a reshaping base cream and an activating layer cream that are applied within five minutes to the lower eyelid using a handheld reshaping tool. These products interact chemically and provide an invisible supporting scaffold that tightens the skin, smoothes wrinkles, and compresses the eyelid bags, improving the appearance of the lower eyelids.

The product is hypoallergenic, fragrance free and non-irritating. The results are visible within one hour of application and make-up can be applied directly over Neotensil. Results last for up to 16 hours and provide 24 hour skin hydration to the treated area. The product can be applied daily or before a special occasion and is easily removed with a cleanser.

In sponsored clinical trials 94 percent of patients showed at least one grade of improvement in the appearance of under eye bags and 87 percent experienced improvement in the appearance of wrinkles. Sixty three percent of patients felt they looked five years younger after one application. Ninety nine percent of patients in the trial showed improvement in their overall facial appearance three hours after application of Neotensil.

While Neotensil is not a permanent solution to eyelid bags, it may be an effective, safe and affordable alternative for patients who do not want the downtime associated with surgery or injectable treatments.
