Neck Liposuction Or Kybella?
Facts About Neck Liposuction and Kybella
According to an American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) survey, 67% of respondents said they are bothered by excess fat beneath their chin. Sometimes, even with diet and exercise, the condition may not go away.
Who Should Consider Neck Liposuction?
Very few people undergoing a cosmetic procedure want to completely change their physical appearance. Often, a small surgical adjustment is a subtle process with very gratifying results.
Neck liposuction is an outpatient procedure that can be a simple solution to this challenge. It can give an individual more self-confidence, and allow them to appreciate their facial features to the fullest.
Who Should Consider Kybella?
Kybella may be right for you if you don't want surgery. Many individuals who choose Kybella are genetically predisposed to excess fat build-up under their chins. This procedure involves a series of injections and does not have any “down time”.
How Does the Process Work?
Neck liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure and the entire procedure takes approximately an hour. Once the procedure has been completed, patients are required to wear a supportive bandage around the neck. In addition to protecting the sensitive area from infection, this supportive bandage will allow the skin, muscles, and remaining fat cells in the area to adjust to the physical change, and to heal and tighten optimally. You can expect to have tighter skin around your neck, a well-defined jaw line, reduction or elimination of jowls and double chin almost instantly with progressive improvement over six months to a year.
Kybella is an in-office procedure, and the injection process takes 20 minutes. Multiple treatments are required depending on the amount of your submental fat. These treatments are spaced no less than one month apart. There may be some swelling, bruising, redness and temporary numbness after the treatment. In clinical studies 79% of people treated with Kybella had improved satisfaction at 12 weeks after the last treatment.
How Much Does Neck Liposuction Cost?
The cost of liposuction procedures varies depending upon a number of factors, including the individual administering the procedure and the area to be treated. In general, an individual seeking neck liposuction should expect to pay between $2,000 and $4,500.
How Much Does Kybella Cost?
Kybella usually requires a series of treatments (four to six weeks apart). The cost is usually $1,200.00 per treatment. Depending on the amount of your submental fat you may need up to four treatments.
