Look Younger Facial Injections vs Facelift

There are advantages of getting older, but looking old is not one of them. People feel young, and pursue ways they can make their appearance match that feeling.

And, with today's technology, there are so many ways to improve skin appearance, diminish wrinkles and defy gravity.

Facial wrinkles are the result of genetics, aging, sun exposure, smoking, poor nutrition and poor skin maintenance. At any age wrinkles can be better or worse due to these factors.

While each individual situation is different and will require examination by a plastic/cosmetic surgeon, there are some general rules regarding age

20's – Botox for the frown lines.

30's – Botox for the frown lines and fillers for the nasolabial folds.

40's – Botox for frown lines, forehead and laugh lines, fillers for nasolabial folds, jowls notch and glabella.

50's – All of the above plus fillers for the tear trough, cheeks, laugh lines, temporal depression and lips or facelift, lip lift and fat injections.

Fillers are useful when folds and wrinkles are mild to moderate and the goal is more of freshening than rejuvenation. When the goal is excitement and confidence of a younger look to regain self esteem, a facelift is strongly preferred. Fillers do not affect the final facelift results since they are temporary and dissolve in time.

Filler longevity depends on the location of the injection and type of injectable. Restylane or Juvederm, when injected in the lips, may last more than a year. In other parts of the face it lasts about six months, though occasionally may last longer. Radiesse can last over a year but there are more problems with induration.

A facelift lasts for a life time, and the person having it will always look younger than their age. Over time, other procedures can be done to maintain that more youthful look.

Costs

The cost of a facelift alone without neck, eye lids, lip lift or fat injection is $8,000 – 12,000 with a more exciting and lasting result as opposed to a liquid lift that can cost $1500 – 2500 and needs to be repeated every six months to have a refreshed look.

Blepharoplasty (eyelid tuck), lip lift, neck lift or fat injections can have a big impact on the rejuvenation process.

Rhinoplasty for the right person does not have a rejuvenation impact as much as making the person more beautiful.

Cheek implants and fat injections in the cheeks are a great addition to the rejuvenation process, however implants are more reliable since fat injections do not always last.

There are many techniques and incisions for facelift. The latest techniques are growing in popularity among plastic surgeons and patients.

I hope that I answered some of the questions you may have. Look younger as you age in your years to come.
