Thu-Nga Ortega, DDS

Dr. Ortega earned her Doctorate from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry with honors Cum Laude (’95). Dr. Ortega then began her Residency at the University of Maryland Hospital. One month after completing her Residency in 1996, Dr. Ortega started working as a full-time private practice associate for a pediatric dentist in Herndon, VA. In 2000, Dr. Ortega opened her private practice in Fairfax, VA. Since then, Dr. Ortega has become a leading cosmetic dentist in the area. Her goal is to help her patients achieve the most ideal and natural smile with the most conservative treatments possible.

Dr. Ortega has been a leading practitioner of cosmetic dentistry for 28 years, making her more experienced in the field than most general dentists. Dr. Ortega stays up to date with innovations in cosmetic dentistry to provide cutting-edge treatment for each one of her patients. She has affiliations and memberships with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Northern Virginia Dental Society, Virginia Dental Association, and American Dental Association. After over two decades of post-doctorate education and training, she earned Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) in 2007 and Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD) in 2017. Only 2% of dentists in the United States and Canada have earned this coveted distinction. In addition to her continuous education in cosmetic dentistry, she has received specialized training involving cosmetic gum surgery, oral surgery, medically compromised patients, geriatric patients, and dental traumas.

At Dental Cosmetix, only one patient is seen at a time to ensure that every individual patient receives the best quality of care. This attention to detail allows for close monitoring of each patient’s teeth and early detection of any problems to help yield the best and most conservative treatments. Due to Dr. Ortega’s extensive post-graduate studies and credentials, most treatments can be done in our office without referral to other offices, allowing us to monitor patient treatment outcomes closely.
