Sofia Rizwan, MD, PC

Dr. Sofia Rizwan, a warm and compassionate psychiatrist who believes in working collaboratively and educating her patients. She is trained in psychopharmacology, and teaches her patients how medication affects the brain and body. She clearly explains the benefits and drawbacks of the treatment she suggests so that her patients will feel they are part of their treatment plan and will set achievable goals.

Dr. Rizwan attended high school in Maryland and completed medical school in Pakistan. She returned to the United States to be with her husband and completed her residency in Psychiatry at Sheppard Pratt. She was at Kaiser Permanente for 10 years before entering private practice.
