Hitesh P. Amin, MD, FACS, is a bariatric and general surgeon. He is the medical director of Transform Bariatrics located in Greenbelt and Rockville, MD. Transform Bariatrics is a comprehensive obesity care practice, that works closely with patients, to address their concerns and improve overall health and wellness.

While Dr. Amin’s focus is obesity surgery, and he specializes in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, Dr. Amin believes in an integrative approach to treatment, utilizing the best holistic, medical and surgical treatments available. Dr. Amin utilizes the latest medications, such as compounded semaglutide (GLP-1A) as well as endoscopic, and minimally invasive surgical approaches to treating obesity and its related conditions. In addition, Dr. Amin and the team at Transform Bariatrics can treat excess skin and fat deposits that are inevitable after weight loss utilizing the latest technologies. Dr. Amin treats common gastrointestinal and abdominal conditions, including gallstones, hernias, reflux, and small bowel and colon conditions.   No other practice in the area offers a more comprehensive group of treatment options for those suffering from obesity and its associated conditions.

Dr. Amin has over 20 years of experience in surgery and has been practicing in the Washington region for more than 15 years. He has successfully completed more than 1500 robotic surgical procedures, making him one of the region’s most experienced robotic general surgeons. Dr. Amin is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Amin accepts new and existing patients at both offices.
