Flawless Skin With Little To No Downtime

When most people think of looking their best or more youthful they think of pain/discomfort, time off from work and social functions.

However, rejuvenating your skin need not result in any of these fears. In fact you can look your best with the right products and procedures that have little to no downtime and discomfort. This is especially true before a major event. Often subtle changes make a significant difference. And, looking your best takes more than just cosmetic procedures.

1. Basic skin care is essential. Use good skin care products before you even think about a cosmetic procedure. Professional skin care products are the most effective for treating blemishes (brown spots) and dull sun-damaged skin. They will improve your skin tone and texture. Use a sunscreen at all times, SPF 15 or higher daily.

2. Select the best procedures for you. In order to look your best, you do not need a drastic cosmetic procedure. Many procedures have minimal to no down time. These include Botox, Restylane, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, laser skin rejuvenation, tumescent liposuction (preformed under local anesthesia) and skin tightening.

3. Lead a healthy lifestyle. Drink 64 oz of water a day, eat green vegetables and exercise at least three times a week. My business consultant is 79 years old and he is totally healthy. His secret? He drinks 64-100 oz of water a day; he eats well, exercises and meditates daily, does yoga and habitually sets goals. Although he is retired, he continues to read at least 12 books a year on a subject he is passionate about and continues to work. Living a fulfilling and happy life is a contributing factor in helping people look younger.

4. Live a more deliberate life. Focus on what is going right in your life and have a sense of humor. Don't take yourself too seriously. Do you know how angels fly? They take themselves lightly.

Most people are as happy as they make up their mind to be. The choice is yours. By the same token you can choose to be right or be kind, loving, understanding and nonjudgmental. I suggest that you choose to be happy rather than find a reason to be offended.

Recently, I visited my family and noticed that my little brother, who had been reactive years ago, was more patient and loving with his wife and kids. I believe at his core he values love and connection much more than a sense of rightness or significance. It is not about importance or achievement but about love and connection that makes us happy and less stressed out.

Further, if you are passionate and excited about your life, your skin will radiate that on the outside, and you will look younger and healthier and be happier.
