Dr. Jennifer Duan brings exceptional experience, advanced clinical training, and a passion for compassionate patient care to Ellicott City Vision. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kansas, Dr. Duan pursued her Doctor of Optometry degree at the State University of New York College of Optometry in New York City, where she graduated with highest honors.
Following optometry school, Dr. Duan completed an intensive Residency at the Eye Institute of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, specializing in primary care and ocular disease. Through this advanced training, she developed extensive expertise in diagnosing and managing a wide range of eye conditions, including glaucoma, dry eye disease, corneal disorders, retinal disease, and other complex ocular conditions.
Dr. Duan has a special interest in myopia management, specialty contact lenses, binocular vision evaluation, and emergency eye care. She is especially known for her thorough, detail-oriented approach and for taking the time to ensure every patient feels heard, informed, and cared for. Her years of experience in multidisciplinary practices throughout New York City, Northern Virginia, and the Baltimore area have given her a broad perspective and a deep appreciation for caring for patients of all ages and backgrounds.
As co-founder of Ellicott City Vision, Dr. Duan is proud to provide advanced, personalized eye care to families throughout Columbia, Ellicott City, and Howard County. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of both the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and the American Optometric Association.
Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Dr. Duan enjoys connecting with patients from many different backgrounds. Outside the office, she enjoys hiking, music, baseball, and spending time with her husband and two children.
